What it is

A custom-built, internet-connected or standalone prize wheel that lives in a venue and runs a predefined distribution campaign. A passer-by walks up, the wheel greets them, they spin, they win something, and the moment is logged. The wheel is the headline; behind it is a quiet stack of light, sound, sensors and software that makes every spin feel curated.

Every unit is fabricated to brief — wheel art, slice contents, materials, mounting, lighting and audio are chosen per campaign. The same chassis can be re-skinned for a new campaign in 1–2 weeks; the first build takes about six.

  • Brands & agencies running mall activations, festival booths, product launches, in-store promos. Goal: footfall, dwell, opt-ins, branded social moments.

Audio

The wheel can be silent, or it can talk, play music, and react to system events.

  • Spin feedback — tick-tick as the wheel decelerates, mapped to actual rotation.
  • Winning-slice announcement — pre-recorded voice lines per slice, or generated TTS for personalised prizes (“Maria, you’ve won a free latte”).
  • Idle music bed — a branded loop pulling people from down the corridor.
Intelligence

Smart sensorspresence & engagement

The wheel knows when someone’s near it, and reacts. A 24 GHz radar or AI camera measures distance and dwell time, triggering layered audio and lighting cues. Two sensor options feed the same engagement logic:

24 GHz Radar

Small, hidden behind the backboard, no privacy concerns — sees distance and motion only. Best for permanent installs.

AI Camera (no faces stored)

Sees approach direction, dwell time, and approximate count of people in the zone. Best when you want analytics on how many people looked vs spun.

Each campaign is a skin (graphics, music, voice lines) + a slice configuration + a date range.

  • Devices. Every wheel is a device — online status, current campaign, firmware.
  • Prizes & slices. Define each slice’s reward, probability weighting (where legal), inventory caps, and the voice line that plays on a win.
  • Analytics. Spins per hour, prize redemptions, conversion.
  • Inventory. Live remaining count per prize — auto-disables slices that run out and rebalances the wheel.
Local option — no internet required

For venues without reliable internet (festivals, pop-ups inside large expo halls, basement retail, remote installs) a local CMS can drive the wheel.

Lighting

Perimeter LEDs on the wheel. A ring of addressable LEDs around the rim — chases during a spin, decelerates with the wheel, lands on the winning slice.

Halo backboard glow. LEDs behind the wheel cast a coloured halo onto the backboard — reads from a long distance and survives bright daytime mall lighting.

Edge-lit plexi internals. LEDs inside an acrylic face shine through translucent slices. Best for dim venues; pairs with the plexi material.
